Comment installer et retirer les forets
ATTENTION; |
Assurez-vous toujours que le contact est coupé et la cartouche
retirée avant d'installer ou d'inverser le foret.
Pour installer le foret, insérez-le le plus
loin possible dans le mandrin. Serrez celui-
cia la main. Placez la clé de mandrin dans
chacun des trois trous et serrez vers la
droite. || est important de serrer le man-
drin de façon égale pour les trois trous.
Pour retirer le foret, tournez la. clé de
mandrin vers la gauche dans un trou seule-
ment. puis reláchez le foret à à la main. ;
Interrupteur
La vitesse de rotation s'accroît quand
vous augmentez votre pression. sur la
gâchette: Pour démarrer l'outil, tirez
simplement sur celle-ci. Pour un fonction-
nement Continu, tirez sur la gâchette et
poussez ensuite le bouton de verrouillage.
Pour ‘arrêter l’outil‘en cette position, tirez
à fond sur la gâchette et relâchez- la.

ATTENTION:
Avant de brancher | ‘outil, assurez-vous toujours que la gâchette
fonctionne correctement et revient en position "OFF" une fois
reláchée.
Interrupteur d'action i inverse
Cet outil est muni d'un interrupteur per-
mettant de changer le sens de rotation.
Mettez-le du cóté “FWD” pour une rota-
tion vers la droite, du coté “REV” pour
le sens inverse.

ATTENTION:
s Vérifiez toujours le sens de rotation avant de forer.
» N‘actionnez l'interrupteur de changement de sens qu'une fois
l'outil complètement arrêté, faute de quoi vous risquez d'en-
— dommager sérieusement celui-ci.

Screw the side grip on the tool securely.
Installing or r removing drill bit
CAUTION:

CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged be-
fore installing or removing the bit.
To install the bit, place it in the chuck as
far as it will go. Tighten the chuck by
hand, Place the chuck key in each of the
three holes and tighten clockwise. Be sure |
to tighten all three chuck holes evenly.
To remove the bit, turn the chuck key
counterclockwise in just one hole, then |
loosen the chuck by hand.
Switch action
Tool speed is increased by increasing pres-
- sure on the trigger. To start the tool,
simply pull the trigger. Release the trigger
to stop. For continuous operation, pull.
. the trigger and then push in the lock
— button. To stop the tool from the locked
“position, pull the. trigger fully, then re-

Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch
trigger actuates properly : and returns to the “OFF” position
Reversing switch action |
This tool has a reversing switch to change
the direction of rotation. Move the revers-
ing switch lever to the “FWD” position
for clockwise rotation or the “REV”
position for counterclockwise. |

e Always. check the direction of rotation before drilling.
» Use the reversing switch only when the tool comes to a com-
‘plete stop. Changing the direction of rotation before the tool
stops may ruin the tool,
Perçage ..

Quand vous forez des trous dans le bois, servez- vous d un foret
à bois muni d’une vis- -guide. Celle-ci permet au foret de percer
naturallement de lui-même, de sorte qu'il n'est besoin d'exercer
aucune pression sur l'outil.
e Perçage du métal ‘ |
- Pour empêcher le foret de glisser en début de forage, faites une
indentation au point de forage à l'aide d’un poinçon et d’un
marteau. Placez ensuite la pointe du foret dans |’ indentation et
commencez à forer. |
Quand vous. ‘forez dans du métal, utilisez un pub de
forage. Seuls le fer et Je laiton peuvent se forer á sec.
ATTENTION:
Une pression excessive. sur l’outil n ‘accélère pas le perçage.
Au contraire, elle risque d'endommager la pointe du foret, de
réduire le rendement de l'outil et donc sa durée de service.
e Une force énorme s'exerce sur le foret et l’outil quand le pre-
mier émerge sur la face postérieure. Tenez votre outil ferme-
ment et faites bien attention.dés que le foret commence a
approcher de la face opposée du matériau que vous percez.
eUn foret coincé “peut se” ‘retirer en plaçant rintrrupteuy- |
inverseur sur. la direction opposée. M faut alors faire très. atten-
tion car l’oùtil risque de reculer ‘brusquement si vo ne le —
tenez pas fermement.
e Assurez toujours les petites pièces à ‘percer à à l’aide d' un n étau
ou d’un mode de fixation analogue. 2

en utilisant uniquement. des pièces de rechange Makita.
Drilling operation
. Drilling i in wood |
When drilling holes in the wood, use a wood drill with a guide
screw, The guide screw makes it bore naturally by itself, so
you do not need to apply any pressure to the tool.
e Drilling i in metal
To prevent the bit from slipping when starting a hole, ‘make an
indentation with a center punch and hammer at the point to
be drilled. Place the point of the bit in the indentation and
start drilling. -
Use a cutting lubricant when drilling metals. The exceptions
= ) are iron and brass which should be drilled dry.
“ CAUTION
e Pressing excessively on the tool will not speed up the drilling.
In fact, this excessive pressure will only serve to damage the
tip of your bit, decrease the tool performance and shorten the
service life of the tool.
eTherei is a tremendous force exerted on the tool/bit at the time
+ of-hole breakthrough. Hold the tool firmiy and exert care
- when the bit: begins to break through the workpiece, a
k bit can: be removed simply by setting the reversing
to o reverse rotation in order to back out. However, the
